Mid-Level (~20) Recommended
Stormcaller
|
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Stormcallers spells are much more powerful than bow abilities in the mid levels, offering around 30% more DPS than strength or dexterity builds. For this reason, we prioritize intelligence over everything else as much as possible. This will leave you with low HP, so you may want to make some substitutions for gear that features higher HP or endurance.
The Gift of Eloquence is mandatory for this build to function effectively. Without it, you will run out of mana often and your DPS will suffer greatly. Recommended auras are
Rising Moon,
Freedom of the Sky, and
Glow of Eternity. If you want to purchase
Gem of Echoes off the auction house, it will help significantly, but you will not be able to acquire the drop itself until the late 20s or early 30s as it comes from Granitus.
| Damage | Survivability |
|---|---|
The
Humanbone is preferred over the
Seastring for the
Theft of Life proc, but both will provide similar DPS. For proficiencies, you want to put as many points as possible into intelligence without sacrificing your survivability. If you are struggling with spells being resisted, you can shift some points into charisma. Putting points into endurance will increase your HP. Agility is not recommended as you'll have low AC regardless.
Tank Paladin
| Paladin Gear | ||||
All you need at this stage of the game is survivability. Grinding Worn Ancient Guardians for their set around level 16+ is a chore but it's worth it. Many of the pieces will be the highest Armor pieces you can get until you approach level 30, some even further. Diamondine Mace will carry your damage for atleast 10 levels, it also doesn't scale off strength, so you can put skill points into either Endurance* (more HP, *recomended), Agility (more damage reduction) or even Dexterity (More DPS due to weapon procs.)
For Aura, get your hands on a
Rising Moon. Eventually, in the late 20's,
Chunk of Living Stone will provice more survivability.
Honorable mentions,
Journeying Boots as always should be obtained for traveling.
Frenzied Fistwraps are a great hand slot if you don't need surviability and want more DPS. Stacking Haste and Resonance will increase your DPS dramatically due to the weapon proc.
Shackle of Bidding is a great get, it sits in your inventory and summons a very good DPS companion.
Pre-Raid Recommended
This item guide will be the best possible gear obtainable before you enter Raid endgame content, excluding items locked behind the
Watcher's Lens. Note that all "suggested proficiencies" include the proficiency point bonuses obtained from the charm recommended by the build.
Windblade
|
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Haste is very important to this build so using
Wisp's Presence is recommended. Using
Flowing Blight Silk Sash is recommended for the
Flow buff, but
Sableheart's Harness is a good alternative for higher resonance. You can use
Seaspice as well for an additional buff, though this will not work for simplayers.
The optimal haste buffs will be -
Death's Embrace II (15%),
Embrace of Shadow (15%),
Whispers of Wind (21%), and
Wisp's Presence (10%)
Because we're focusing proficiencies on strength and dexterity, running
Eclipse is recommended. Using the
Gem of Echoes will provide additional resonance for an increase in DPS, but can be swapped out if you wish to run something else.
Arcanist
|
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Stacking resonance is very important for arcanists due to the "Roaring Echoes" ascension skill, which increases spell damage for resonating casts for each point over 100 resonance. However, it is only possible to get a maximum of 102 resonance right now on an arcanist, which minimizes the potential benefit of this ascension Skill. This requires usage of both the
Gem of Echoes and
Hallows Eve auras as well as upgrading all items to godly (purple) tier, making it unlikely for the average player to obtain at the moment without a very large amount of grinding and farming for materials.
Using
Grip of Darkness over
Gloves of Vitheo, sacrifices one resonance in favor of the increased attack speed from
Embrace of Shadow for higher DPS. Note that
Soul Echo can be swapped with
Crest of Braxonia at no cost, as the
Mana Charge II effect is already obtained from
Ring of Echoes and multiple copies of
Mana Charge II do not stack.
Recommended auras are
Whispers of Wind,
Hallows Eve,
Gem of Echoes, and
Lightning Strike as these provide the highest amount of haste and intelligence. This will potentially sacrifice the DPS of melee classes such as paladins or windblades so that should be taken into consideration. The fifth slot depends on the player's needs. If mana is an issue, the
Sage's Trinket is an excellent option. Running
Wisp's Presence provides no benefit as its haste effect does not stack with the ones provided by other gear.
|
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Alternatively, players can instead build to try and maximize intelligence and charisma, as many sacrifices need to be made to these stats currently in order to obtain maximum resonance. The intelligence build has over 100 more intelligence and slightly more charisma than the resonance build at the cost of a few resonance points. In testing, this build displayed comparable performance damage-wise to the resonance build, while having significantly more mana and health as well. Given that reaching over 100 resonance on the resonance build requires every item to be godly (purple), the intelligence build is also likely to be superior for most players until sufficient godly items and ascension skill points are obtained.
Stormcaller
|
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Currently, Stormcallers are (unfortunately) better served by being built primarily as a physical damage dealer. Although both builds (Strength/Dex and Intelligence) are capable of putting out similar damage, the Strength/Dexterity build outputs much more consistent damage, while the Intelligence build's damage is much more reliant on
Trick Shot RNG procs to maximize its damage. The Strength/Dexterity build primarily relies on auto-attack damage, with the two DoTs
Envenomed Arrow and
Razor Tipped Arrow being the primary damage skills you should consider using.
Newer items like
Armguards of Presence have allowed for easy acquisition of a large amount of haste with few sacrifices needing to be made in the build, and physical damage builds benefit to a significantly greater degree from haste, which has allowed the Strength/Dexterity build to pull ahead despite the lack of particularly good item options in some slots, especially the chest, where the only "good" chest for the build is locked behind completing the
Watcher's Lens questline (
Ilyth's Coat). As a result, for now, the build recommends the not particularly appealing
Drakescale Cuirass. The lack of great Strength/Dexterity gear options is further evidenced by the significant overlap in item choices between the two builds; however, despite these limitations, the Strength/Dexterity build is likely superior for most use cases.
Recommended auras are
Whispers of Wind and
Hallows Eve to maximize haste.
For the Strength/Dexterity Build, consider
Eclipse.
For the Intelligence build, consider
Gem of Echoes, and
Lightning Strike.
Tank Paladin
|
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Currently, the benefits of stacking armor against difficult enemies are relatively low, as reaching the physical damage mitigation from AC against difficult enemies is fairly easy with purple gear without investing heavily into defense proficiency. Since there is no "cap" on health, this means to optimize your survivability after reaching the armor cap, we want to put everything else into hardiness. If you do not have fully purple gear, you will need to shift a significant number of points from hardiness into defense to reach/approach the "armor cap". Currently, the maximum AC you need to hit the AC cap (assuming you are using a shield on paladin) is 2297 AC, which will give you maximum physical mitigation against fully-powered Eldoth Molorai. In practice, in most situations, significantly less is required (1967 AC is sufficient while fighting Astra).
There is a lot of flexibility with item choices, as well as proficiency distribution, as you will likely end up with far more health and armor than you could ever want/need. This build already overcaps AC to a significant degree, and as a result some points can be removed from Defense and/or Hardiness, at the risk of being less future-proof against upcoming raid content. This build already is sacrificing some survivability to increase chance of successful melee hits and block chance by investing a few points into Finesse. Alternative item options include:
Helm:
Monarch's Mask offers slightly better defensive stats. However, the
Contagious Rage effect on Fury Helm is strong enough to warrant sacrificing defenses in exchange for haste and aggro generation.
Amulet:
Amulet of Azure requires completion of a quest that will turn Ripper's Keep aggressive towards you. If you'd prefer to keep them friendly, use
Temporal Shard.
Chest:
Ascendant's Embrace offer higher armor/health than
Wyrm Skin Protector but significantly less resistances.
Arm:
Armguards of Presence are the second best arms from a defensive perspective. However, they have a very strong haste effect that may be desirable.
Back:
Sivakayan Wings offers significantly more defenses than alternative options. However, if you'd like to have more self-sustain and/or haste, use
Plaguewind for the
Vampirism effect.
Waist:
Charmed Belt technically is the best defensive belt in the game due to it providing the
Protection buff. However, you can quickly equip it and swap to
Sableheart's Harness and you will retain the buff for 15 minutes, making juggling the two belts the "optimal" strategy. If you want to equip a belt and forget it, use
Charmed Belt.
Shield:
Cursed Hide Shield can be chosen instead for its
Devour effect on bash helping with self-sustain.
Regarding Auras, it is likely not worth going out of your way to gain more survivability from equipped Auras, but the
Whispers of Wind,
Lightning Strike, and
Eclipse Auras will all provide useful defenses and are generally desired by other classes.

Druid
| Druid Guide | ||||
Important: For Druid the reason you prioritize resonance over everything is because of the stat ratio. The ratios for Druid are as follows: 1 Resonance = 11 Intelligence (For your damage spells), 1 Resonance = 28 Wisdom (For your crit heals), and 1 Resonance = 30 Wisdom (For your non-crit heals). Do keep in mind this ratio is only applicable to max level end game Druid and does not apply to early game. In the end game you also want to have as many Vengeful Healing procs from your Ascension Skills as possible which Resonance enables.
Recommended: If you or a sim player in your party are using a
Gem of Echoes and you have all purple blessed gear you can drop the
Soul Echo and use a
Temporal Shard as an alternative as there is no reason for Druid to exceed 100 Resonance. If you or a sim player are not using a
Gem of Echoes this setup will have you at exactly 100 Resonance.
You can opt into using a
Cursed Hide Shield in your off-hand if you want to have a much more tanky setup.
If you enjoy getting into melee range you can mainhand a
Twisted Branch for
Blight procs and swap
Ulor's Encyclopedia for
Eternox, Remnant of the Void
We are using
Rotten Hands over
Grip of Darkness because we get
Embrace of Shadow from
Eldoth's Heirloom Ring. The buff
Gift of Rot also gives +20 Str, Dex, Wis, and Int to the player as a hidden bonus making them superior in stat bonuses.
Gift of Rot also applies a -25 resistance debuff to any enemy it hits.
DPS Paladin
| Paladin DPS Guide | ||||
Using
Eldoth's Heirloom Ring is now mandatory after the durability nerfs to Paladins while they are using a 2-handed weapon, which means you have to have a main tank while using a 2-handed Paladin (At least for challenging content). Therefore making
Sableheart's Harness the best over
Flowing Blight Silk Sash. Your optimal haste buffs will be
Embrace of Shadow (15%),
Whispers of Wind (21%),
Wisp's Presence (10%), and
Theft of Vigor (15%)
