Auction House

The Auction house is where all players and simulated players can sell their unwanted loot.

Filters/Search/Sorting

There are various filter options for items displayed as well as the ability to search on item name. You may filter by item slot and class. Important: Class filters function by AND logic. This means that selecting two classes, such as Arcanist and Druid will only display items usable by all selected classes. The "Include General Items" filter includes items such as potions, spells, and consumables.

Sorting controls how the results are displayed in the list. All selections sort from highest to lowest except for the "Cost {Low to High}" option, which works as the name implies. The "Dmg / Dly Ratio" option sorts weapons based upon the ratio between their Damage and Delay stats.

Entering text in the "Search" box will filter items to just those that contain the entered text in their name. You can clear the search text by clicking on the "Clear" button to the right of the "Search" button.

The "Clear All Filters" button at the right end of the window next to the filter check boxes will clear all filters, including the search box.

Purchasing Items

To purchase an item, click on it in the list first. This will highlight the selected row in a light gray and update the selling information in the top right corner of the window. To purchase the item, click the "Buy Item" button at the bottom of the window. This will show a confirmation pop-up before actually purchasing the item. Once you have pressed the button, the price will be deducted from your account and the item will be placed in your inventory.

If you do not have any free space in your inventory you will receive a message stating WARNING: Inventory full. Received item in TRASH SLOT! WARNING: Item will be lost unless its relocated to a safe inventory slot.

Auction Brokers

The auctioneers of the game provide the player with the ability to buy and sell items with other simulated players.

Pricing and Sales

Simulated players list items at a significant mark up, typically ranging from 4-6x the buy price listed on the tool tip based upon their greed values. Some simulated players, such as Jethro, can exceed this value considerably by 8x or higher. Prices are given a random value based their hidden greed value so that not every item is listed at the exact same amount.

Fixed SimPlayer Greed Values

Behox 1.2 (sells for 6x)
Blademann 1.7 (sells for 8.5x)
Brock 1.3 (sells for 6.5x)
Cyndara 2.0 (sells for 10x)
Dancer 0.8 (sells for 4x)
Jethro 1.75 (sells for 8.75x)

An example of the "Your Listings" pop-up and the sell window

Simulated players will buy items up to 6x-1 of the price listed on the tool tip. Items priced lower than this do not sell any more quickly, so selling for any amount less than this constitutes lost profit. To list an item for sale, click on the "Your Listings" button at the bottom of the auction house window. This will pop-up a new window with your auction slots. Simply click on an item in your inventory, enter the price into the price window and press the Enter button to the right of the price. There are a total of 18 slots for listing items for sale for both players and simulated players.

Items sell in the auction house based on a number of factors, including world economy. Simulated players gain money by fighting in the world and selling items of their own. If you are having slow sales, simply playing the game will allow this money to generate and provide more opportunity for the simulated players to buy your items. Sales happen regularly on their own. You can try disconnecting and logging back in to simulate six hours of time passing to improve sell rates, though this is usually not necessary.

When you have items that have sold, you will receive a message that reads You have money to pick up at the auction house in your chat log when entering the game or changing zones. The next time you open the auction house, you will hear the sound of money being collected and see a message in your chat log that reads Received XXX gold from item sales. where XXX is the amount collected.

Notes

Important: Simulated players will only buy gear such as armor and weapons from the auction house at this time. Scrolls, potions, etc. will not sell to simulated players and should not be listed.

When starting a new game, your auction house may not function properly until you log out once as that's when the auction house file is saved on disk. If you are unable to use or see the auction house on a new character, try disconnecting and reconnecting first.
